Join Marney Reid and Erin Hoffman, President and CEO at Total Joint Orthopedics (TJO) as they discuss the role corporate social responsibility plays in a purpose driven company.  Erin shares the story of how Operation Walk, an all- volunteer medical humanitarian organization that provides the gift of mobility through life-changing joint replacement surgeries at no cost for those in need in the U.S. and globally was founded and drives much of the TJO mission. We also review the role value-based care plays in the MedTech sector and how a purpose driven company can thrive in this environment.

Erin Hofmann, MBA

President and CEO of Total Joint Orthopedics

Erin Hofmann is a distinguished leader in the healthcare industry with an extensive background in both business and medical device sectors. She earned her undergraduate degree from Davidson College before going on to receive her MBA from Vanderbilt University.

Erin's professional journey began at Centerpulse Orthopedics, followed by Zimmer Carolinas and Zimmer Southeast, working in product management, medical education, computer navigation, and marketing, however, she grew up in the orthopedic world, attending conferences, grand rounds, and surgeries from a very young age. Through college she worked summers in the University of Utah’s Bone & Joint Research Laboratory under Dr. Roy Bloebaum.

In 2009, Erin co-founded Total Joint Orthopedics with her father, Dr. Aaron Hofmann, and the late Dr. Lawrence Dorr. Under her guidance and with the exceptional team of employees and design surgeons, the company has excelled in delivering high-quality orthopedic devices and services, significantly improving patient outcomes.

Her passion for enhancing patient care led her to volunteer with Operation Walk Utah in 2009, her first of ten mission trips with the organization. TJO currently donates up to one implant for every ten sold, continuing the originally inspiration for the company from Drs. Hofmann and Dorr.

In recognition of her contributions to the healthcare industry, Erin became a member of the Women Business Leaders of the US Healthcare Industry Foundation in 2024. Her commitment to excellence and innovation continues to drive the success of Total Joint Orthopedics, making a meaningful impact on the lives of patients worldwide.
