Join Marney Reid and Drs. Elizabeth Lieberman, Carl Herndon and AJ Rush III as they discuss when and how to implement something new to your practice, whether this is a new surgical approach or a technology/product that they feel will help enhance with patient care.   These three early career surgeon leaders representing different Orthopaedic subspecialties, locations, and practice models share best practices and lessons learned on their practice building journeys.

Elizabeth Lieberman

Clinical Associate, Orthopaedic and Fracture Specialists

Lizzie Lieberman is a hip and knee replacement surgeon in private practice in Portland, Oregon.  She went into joint replacement surgery because she loved the predictability of the surgeries and outcomes.  However, she also understands that if we don’t constantly stretch beyond our familiar comfort zones we will fail to progress or grow.

Dr. Lieberman completed her fellowship in 2020 and entered practice during a time when standard practice had been thrown out the window.  She took this opportunity to grow a busy practice and implement protocols including a highly successful same-day discharge protocol, which had not previously been done in the group she was working with.

Two years into practice, an opportunity came about to change jobs and she took the leap, changing from an academic position to private practice. In her first four years of clinical practice, she has learned a lot about how and why it’s important to incorporate new protocols, procedures, and technologies into practice and is excited to discuss this topic!
